Best Movie Title Drops

It really is something when you hear the movie's title mentioned as you're watching the film. Many times it is very casual, others it is merely a name and mentioned so often that you don't feel anything by the end of the movie, but some times, it is worked into the script with such cleverness and efficiency that you can't help but wonder if the producers chose the title of the film because they loved the line. Of course, this isn't the case, but that's why I love these particular title drops. In many cases, they are the best lines in the entire movie.

5. The Cowboys
The Cowboys is truly one of John Wayne's best films and that distinction owes a lot to his performance as Wil Andersen, the rancher left on his own by his ranch hands during a gold rush who must count on the local schoolboys to get his cattle to market. Reluctant at first, when Wil Andersen finally sees he has no alternative, he agrees to take the boys on, but not before reminding them just who they are, " a bunch of Cowboys, just like the word says."

4. Face/Off
Face/Off is an action film in a league of its own thanks to the terrific screenplay and unmatched performance of both John Travolta and Nicholas Cage. There is a lot to be said for this movie, not the least of which is one of the best title drops of all, delivered by a stoned Nick Cage.

3. Godzilla
Today, people see the 1998's Godzilla as a failure. I'm in the minority, and personally feel it is much better than what this century had to offer us, but that is not the debate today. No one can deny the ominous and powerful title drop by a survivor of the classic monster's first attack. The new one didn't even come close and I'm sure the scene will always be remembered by fans of Godzilla.

2. Batman
"I'm Batman!" Need I say more? Just pick your favorite actor interpretation and it's still one the most remembered lines, and definitely title drops, ever.

1. Independence Day
1996's Independence Day will always be in my book, the best alien invasion movie ever made, and Bill Pullman's speech to rile up the jet pilots before leading them in mankind's last effort to preserve the human speech is inspiring no matter how many times you watch it. It made me want to vote for him. I offer it here in its entirety because you really can't get enough of it, even 19 years later!

And to round off the top ten:
6. Be Cool
7. Gladiator
8. Uncle Buck
9. The Man From Snowy River
10. Saving Private Ryan
